We met quite unexpectedly in an electrical store in Brighton. As I usually do when I hear an Aussie accent in the UK, I turned around to see if I know who it is. I didn't, but there he was. Just like that!
We got talking, right there and then in the shop. I no longer needed the shop assistant, as he helped me choose a sat nav for my car. Fast forward a few hours and we went for a drive around Brighton, where he showed me a different way home to my house (so romantic).
Since then he's talked to me every day. I'll admit (maybe not to him, just yet) that it's nice hearing an Aussie accent on my way to and from work. His name is Ken (so Aussie!) and I actually don't know that much about him yet. But I can already tell he's pretty reliable, a dependable sort of character. He's shown me a few places in the UK I've never been to, and I've been really impressed that he knows the answers to heaps of my silly questions like where I can get petrol and what is the postcode for Margate. Yesterday he even told me about an accident in Canterbury he'd heard about, so that I wouldn't get stuck in traffic. So cute! Not a bad looker either.
Speaking of, I snuck a photo of him the other day, for the purpose of my blog. Scroll down...
Ken. My Aussie sat nav lover. I wouldn't normally boast about a new relationship so early, but I think he's a keeper. A bargain at £149. Here he is in action.
Nervous-wee inducing main road. Note the blind corner ahead. |
Love it Lindsay...was gripped by the suspense, excited by the hope and then giggling at the picture. A truly reliable Aussie male can be hard to find....hold on to this one!
